Officer David Newton is a Marine Corps veteran and a volunteer firefighter who has been a police officer for over 13 years. As an officer, he has worked patrol, been a school resource officer and a supervisor. Since joining GPD in 2023, Officer Newton has become a Motor Officer and Collision Reconstructionist with the Traffic Safety Unit. Officer Newton is an avid motorcycle rider outside of his work duties and is the current President of the Blue Knights Law Enforcement Motorcycle Club, Chapter NC VIII. Officer Newton started riding on a 2002 Honda Shadow before upgrading to a 2010 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic and now rides a 2023 Honda Goldwing next to his assigned Police 2024 BMW 1250RT. Riding a motorcycle is more than a hobby or a job, it's a way to live! Live to Ride, Ride to Live!
