Sgt. Brian Lampe

Senior Officer Lampe is a native of Burlington, N.C. After graduating from Walter M. Williams High School in 1990, he served in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years as a Nuclear, Biological and Chemical weapons defense specialist. Upon completion of his military service in July of 1997, Senior Officer Lampe studied engineering at North Carolina State University before accepting a position with the Raleigh Police Department in August of 1999. Lampe spent his first 6 years with the department as a patrol officer in the Field Operations division. In August of 2005, he was selected to his current assignment as a motor officer with the Traffic Enforcement Unit. Officer Lampe holds professional certifications as a chemical analyst and RADAR/LIDAR operator. He has been instructing and assessing students in the BikeSafe NC program since July 2008. Officer Lampe is an avid hockey fan and enjoys spending his off-duty time with his family and tailgating at Carolina Hurricanes games.
