Trooper Cross has been employed with the State Highway Patrol since 2014. Upon graduation from the Basic Patrol School, Trooper Cross was assigned to Troop B, District III, Jacksonville. In 2023, Trooper Cross graduated from the Basic Police Motorcycle School and was assigned to Troop I, District II, West Motorcycle Unit, Charlotte. Trooper Cross is a certified BikeSafe NC assessor, and completed level 1 of the California Super Bike School, MSF Basic Rider Course, and MSF Advanced Rider Course.
Before the Highway Patrol, Trooper Cross served in the United States Marine Corps. Trooper Cross is a graduate of the University of Mount Olive with a Bachelor of Science in Criminology, and a graduate of The Pennsylvania State University with a Master of Public Administration.
